Nobody Lives Here: A Map

I’ve worked with Census data to make maps before (transportation, population density, drug arrests), but I never thought of using the data to show where exactly people do not live. This map by Nik Freeman does just that and in striking manner. The area I’m from is almost entirely populated, and you can see the US get less and less dense as you go from the east to west. Neat.
